AMERICAN LEGION
American Legion - National - legion.org
Our top level organization in the American Legion is our national office. Located in Indianapolis, IN, they maintain all operations of the organization through all levels down to the individual Legionnaire's membership record. All programs of the Legion are authorized by them, and information regarding all aspects of the organization can be found here.
American Legion - Department of New York - nylegion.net
Each state has its own individual organization to manage the affairs of all Legion groups within its own borders. They are uniquely equipped to deal with the day-to-day operations of our Posts. Many of the programs found on the national site are supervised by our local Department of NY staff. Although some of our state operations may differ slightly from other state organizations, our department is in tune with the needs of New York Posts.
American Legion - District 10
The Department of New York is divided into ten (10) districts based on membership by county. A map is available online by clicking HERE. Nassau County falls into the 10th district along with Suffolk and Queens. Our district often collaborates with districts 1 and 2 in activities such as Legion Oratorical (described elsewhere on this website).
